Celebrating Buddha’s Enlightenment Day
Join Genpo Roshi in appreciating this central event in Buddhist history, the day of Shakyamuni’s enlightenment, commemorated in Zen tradition as Rohatsu (literally, the 8th day of the 12th month).

In Buddhist teachings, dana (Sanskrit for giving, generosity, donation) is the first of the paramitas (virtues, perfections) to be cultivated and practiced by all human beings. Your donations are the sole support for Kanzeon, the Big Mind office, and Genpo Roshi’s life. Thank you for supporting these opportunities to receive the teachings.
